Individual and Group Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy involves a collaborative relationship between patient and clinician in which the purpose and goal of the relationship is to benefit the patient. Research suggests that psychotherapy is an effective treatment for depression, anxiety, pain, and a range of other emotional and relationship problems. People seek psychotherapy for a variety of reasons and a variety of approaches or styles of psychotherapy treatment are available. Despite differences in style and approach, all of our clinicians address patient issues in an active, supportive and collaborative manner. The information discussed in psychotherapy is strictly confidential.

Group psychotherapy involves a collaborative relationship among several patients (five to eight) and one or two clinicians. Groups provide patients with input and feedback from a variety of perspectives and offer patients the powerful benefits of group support and cohesion. Groups can be general or address specific issues and concerns. Our clinicians currently offer groups for a variety of issues, including patients with brain injury, spouses of patients with cognitive impairment, chronic pain patients, and young adolescents with adjustment or relationship issues.
